CHAPTER TEN
HIS BREATHING FINALLY slowed while Dade held Felicia close in the nook of his arm. Her exotic scent drifted to his nose, mingling with the musky scent of sex. He’d never smelled anything better. It was a perfume that engulfed him, seeped through his chest and squeezed his heart into submission.
He’d never been with a woman this way before, couldn’t compare what they’d shared to anything, but he was sure that what they’d done together rated off the charts hot. In fact, he’d be willing to bet that they’d come together like a cyclone and a volcano. And his dick stayed semi-hard as if at any moment the opportunity would arise for more.
He shifted, but kept his hold on her, not wanting to break the contact. Not yet. She moaned lazily and he smiled. “Me too, angel.”
She slid her fingers along his cheek and threaded them into his hair. “So tell me, if you’ve never been with a woman fully, how’s it that you are a skilled lover?” Her voice was soft and husky.
He shrugged. “Maybe it’s all because of the one I’m with?” He kissed the top of her head.
“Well, just so we’re clear, you’re the best lover I’ve ever had. Those moves…those wildly intoxicating moves!” She chuckled. “I’m still all tingly. I think my toes are forever curled.”
“I love how you don’t hesitate in saying what’s on your mind. And you’re very good at building a man’s ego.”
“Not used to that, huh?”
“Nope, but I’ll expect it from now on.”
She lifted her chin and looked at him. “The ex-girlfriend was sweet and the kind you take home to mama?”
“Oh, my parents loved her. I think they had been planning the wedding secretly from the time I told them I’d met a girl.”
“And the day it ended there were a lot of broken hearts, eh?”
“Honestly, not mine. I felt a sense of relief. I mean, I cared for her, but if we’d married, we wouldn’t have made it long. We were two different people wanting two different things.” He twirled a strand of her hair around his finger, then let it drop. “You know about my past love life, but what about you? Have there been a few?” Maybe he shouldn’t have asked, but he could handle the answer. At least he hoped.
“A few so far.”
Had she just said ‘so far’? Why did that feel like a stake going through his heart? Damn, boy, don’t allow your emotions to rule. He felt her shiver. “You getting cold?”
“A little.”
He pulled the sheet over them and laid his arm over her. They warmed up quickly with their naked bodies pressed together. His gut ached to start another round, but he was also very satisfied with laying there and holding her. He enjoyed looking at her—the depths of her beautiful eyes, the pale color of her skin with a scattering of light freckles, the heart shape of her face…she was the definition of sexy. Her hair was spread over the pillow, looking darker against the white pillow.
